We see things a little different than the other mouthguard manufacturers here at Bite Defense. One thing that separates us from the rest, is our belief that we can do just about anything as far as designs go. When we started thinking about forming a company, we looked around and frankly were bored by what we saw out there. Standard two dimensional designs were the norm and frankly had been taken as far as they could go. The first question we asked ourselves is what can we do that's different and still maintain maximum safety? The answer, our Fanguards. That started it all and after the first prototype was completed we knew that we were on to something.

So why spend the money for a custom mouthguard when you can spend $20.00 for a futuristic looking boil and bite with a $30,000.00 dental warranty? First of all, fit. You can not get a boil and bite mouthguard to fit anything like a custom fit mouthguard. The better the fit, the better your breathing will be and the less your thinking about your mouthguard. Second, the $30,000.00 dental warranty has a lot of fine print. The kind of fine print that says they don't have to pay up unless you can prove the mouthguard was defective. Something that would require thousands of dollars in research, expert witnesses and court cost dealing with endless motions before you ever actually get to trial. Third, recent studies have linked early onset Alzheimers and other memory and brain function related illnesses to repeated head trauma. The kind of head trauma that results from playing contact sports like football, hockey and boxing. One thing believed to minimize the kind of head trauma linked to these illnesses is the use of a mouthguard that provides a minimum 3mm separation between the molars. All of our mouthguards range in thicknesses of 3mm to 5mm. This meets the guidelines of the Academy of Sports Dentistry.

Our innovative designs have led us to the development of new technologies. As a result we are currently in the process of obtaining a U.S. patent and Trademark.
